First birthday sessions, with cake smashes, are one of my favorites.  I love designing the setup for the cake smash, and working with a little more color than I normally use during my newborn sessions.   We started out the session with more of a portrait feel, and warmed up listening to  some toddler music.

Oscar put on a show, dancing to the music and giving me some good smiles.

It’s always sort of a surprise as to how the children will respond to the cake itself, but Oscar did not disappoint; when it came out he dug right in!
