I’m lauren

Hi, I’m Lauren, the face behind the camera at Lauren Tomten Photography. It’s my goal to give my clients top notch customer service and timeless images that they will cherish for years to come.

I started my photography journey in 2014. I had conquered twins and I was ready to conquer something new. I knew then how important photography was to me, and wanted to help others document these special moments in their lives. After some time I realized I had a passion and skill for newborn photography and continued to make that the heart of my business. There is nothing more gratifying to me than seeing the love in parents’ eyes as I document this special time in their lives.

If you are looking for a photographer who will take care of all of the details of your session, create lasting memories and quality images, and keep you relaxed and laughing through the experience, then I am your girl!

WHERE I’VE CALLED HOME:

I was born and raised right here in Springfield, IL. I spent my college years in Missouri, where I met my husband who was in the Air Force at the time. We thought we would travel the world with his job but the only places we saw were the plains of Missouri and the New Mexico desert. When it came time to transition from military life, we found ourselves back here in my hometown near family and friends.

MY FAVORITE FOOD:

Tacos. If there was only one meal I could have every day for the rest of my life, it would be tacos. There are so many kinds! So much variety! So much flavor! Give me all the tacos!! And make mine with cilantro please.

MY happy place:

I love the water! Give me some crystal clear water, warm temps and a good book, and I can hang out all day.

You might hear me blasting:

During sessions probably Taylor Swift, Ray LaMontagne, or lullabies. Being a teen in the 90s, I resonate with boy bands, pop stars, and 90s alternative. Depending on the day you might find me unapologetically blasting Britney, or rocking out to Weezer or Green Day.
